Breads & Bagels
Silver Hills makes bread and bagels the way they should be: simple, honest and wholesome. That means taking 36 hours to bake it right using organic ingredients where we can. It also means no GMOs, and nothing extra added. We tried, but it doesn’t get much simpler than that.
By the way, our breads are BC Kosher certified and our bags are biodegradable, too.
Steady Eddie
Formerly Balanced Bread
Have you ever tried balancing on a giant beach ball? We have and it’s hard. But we think we’ve done a pretty good job of offering more balance in your diet with our Steady Eddie bread. It’s sweetened with organic whole apples and has a low GI rating of under 55*, which is good if you’re trying to eat less refined sugar, eat more apples, or simply enjoy a great tasting bread. That’s one balancing act we got right, at least.
If you’re living with diabetes, or are simply looking to control your blood sugar levels, visit the Canadian Diabetes Association website to learn more about low GI foods.

To our valued customers who enjoy Steady Eddie
Steady Eddie’s Past – Steady Eddie has been a very popular choice for our customers for a number of years. Lately, however we have noticed some drying of the product and wanted to find a way to give our customers a better tasting, moister bread experience when they purchased Steady Eddie. Over the past several months we have been working hard to improve the moistness and freezing characteristics of the bread. We are continuously striving to improve the experience of our products for our customers.
Eddie’s Future - We have come up with an organic whole food solution to make this bread meet our standards and are pleased to make these changes to the recipe. We will be adding sprouted organic whole soy beans.
Eddie’s New Recipe Starts June 1, 2010 – We will be switching over to the improved recipe June 1, 2010 and look forward to your feedback on this new formulation. Please let us know what you think.
Any Steady Eddie product that is made with the new recipe will carry a sticker explaining that the product now contains sprouted organic whole soy beans. We are preparing new bags to indicate this new recipe, and will switch to the new packaging in the near future.
